Happy birthday to Rob!

We did something rather unusual yet fun to celebrate. I picked up Fiona from school, brought her home for dinner, and then we went to the Minneapolis Institute of Art for their special visiting exhibit of the Terracotta warriors of the Qin Dynasty. We got to see the terracotta warriors in situ when we adopted MiniPlu. It remains the non-child-oriented highlight from either of our two trips to China, and definitely a highlight from any travels, ever. Really amazing. Happy birthday to Rob and I'm glad you had such a nice way to celebrate.

I saw that exhibit in NYC! It was amazing - I was enchanted by the faces and the hands of the various figures. I loved the horses, too. That they were so large, and yet so well detailed.

Amazing. When my work took me to Beijing, one of the companions of my group took a day to fly to and from and see the warriors in situ - she said it was overwhelming, and she burst into tears. I can vaguely understand why, after seeing the exhibit, that it would be incredibly overwhelming.
