"Surprisingly good" as in - it really tastes like fudge?

(Also, although I can see the picture just fine, I can't see the tiny print, even if I had both eyes functional. What does your icon say?)

*laughs* I mean that 'black beans=dessert' takes you by surprise, doesn't it? But I really did like it. It doesn't taste exactly like fudge. Not as sweet, for one thing (the sweetness comes from the dates). But that's actually a plus for me: I don't like really oversweetened desserts.

The one thing I think I could have done to make it taste more like fudge was really a texture thing: I should have ground it in my blender a bit longer to make the mixture smoother. But at any rate, I do count it a major success.

(The icon is the front picture of the book my family made and gave me for Christmas: Cooking for Ingrates.)

I'm totally trying this! Our favorite Gluten, dairy, soy free bakery has some amazing black bean brownies, so I have a lot of faith that this is delicious.

My Weight Watchers leader made brownies with black beans. They were surprisingly good! Your family is missing out, but as you said, more for you.
