Hi Peg,

It looks like a number of those are available on paperbackswap.com. Might be worth checking it out if you haven't already.

Cheers!

You didn't say so, but if you want to borrow Pistols for Two or A Blunt Instrument, you're welcome to.

On the other hand, most of these are primarily of interest to completists.

Are you willing to give it up? Would you like a trade? I have duplicate copies of Arabella, The Black Moth, A Convenient Marriage and Venetia. Might have a few others, too.

Just as a question, what are your favorites? I'm wondering what Heyer to search for next. =) I adore The Grand Sophy and Cotillion, and am fond of Venetia and one whose title I forget but it had something to do with a gatehouse. I've read a few others that were more medicore, I thought. Just wondering what other ones fans particularly like. =)

Hmm, how to narrow it down? I'm particularly fond of Fredrica, Sylvester, Or the Wicked Uncle (how could I not be when the heroine is a writer?), Arabella, Venetia, and The Toll-Gate, which is the one you were trying to remember. Also like, more moderately, A Civil Contract and The Unknown Ajax.

The one I like the least of all the regency romances is The Reluctant Widow (the heroine is whiney and an absolute b*tch, and I have no idea why the hero would ever marry her).

Yes! I didn't quite believe at first she was going that way at first, but Freddy totally won me over in the end.

You don't want The Great Roxhythe. I tracked it down while I was in Toronto and it's AWFUL.

*laughs* Well, I have no idea what it's about!

It's all about politics and Roxhythe's devotion to his king. Much more in the depressing theme of the four modern romances than any of the Regencies.
