Don't know what the regs are now, but I had to hand over my military I.D. during outprocessing . . .

(Can dig out a copy of the discharge orders, or pull my discharge papers out of the safe deposit box -- on a legal holiday.)

I was wondering how many vets would have their ID still. Even if it didn't have to be surrendered in earlier days (I have no idea) I can't imagine that my dad still has his from the 1950s, or my grandfather-in-law from WWII.
