No flowers or etc. info. It did say "Her family was with her until the very end, which is a small consolation. There will be no funeral because she will be cremated. However, the family is planning to hold a memorial some time later in the summer. I will let you know about it when the time comes."
Though the cremation = no funeral strikes me as a bit strange. Having attended what I would consider a reasonable sample of funerals with more than half of them being cremation, that is not a logical connection I would have made.
I think what they mean to say is that since she won't be buried, they won't have a ceremony to inter her remains and that a memorial can be planned at their leisure. My experience is the same as yours, but I guess word usage can be open to interpretation.

Did the email have any further info on where flowers, etc. could be sent, or any wishes in lieu of flowers?
