I got a forward from another former PEG.  Celeste is in a bad way.  Word is,

I wanted to let you know that Celeste is not doing that well physically.  Her last cancer treatment is no longer working.  If you would like to write to her, this would be the time to do it.  Celeste does not want people calling her b/c that would be overwhelming, but

So much I could say, so very little of it constructive or anything I'd want said to anyone I care about on their deathbed. I think it might help to send a brief card, if only for the sake of the forgiveness process.

I had no idea she even had cancer. I guess she left the year before I got there though. I did meet her during my interview though...

Again, what do you say to someone in this circumstance? I'm sure she doesn't even remember me.
