The needless shopping

I don't like to travel, trek or move out anywhere in my free time. And yet, since yesterday night I have been fighting the urge to buy a digital Point & Shoot camera. Weird. Things the so called diwali ligthening/super/jaws-dropping deals can do to your brain flooding in from across different ecommerce site. And yeah, it's not just about camera.

I guess each and everyone of us has our own 'indulge' zones, which are groupings of things which we like to buy and don't feel overly bad either, or even if we do, we end up inventing reasons to justify that indulgence! For me, bicycling is one such zone and I always have something or the other in my 'drool' zone. Sometimes, to avoid the guilt, I end up splitting up big spends in phases, but they often mean I end up getting more junk or at any rate, sub-optimal purchases

My guilts etc are temporary. For example I did buy ZTE Blade G2 even though there was no real reason except for non-availability of GPS in the karbonn A25 which I had started using in between during those times. During those days I was walking 10 KM and wanted to count the steps I am taking. Started Noom Pedometer and that weird application simply started eating up my steps claiming that I was able to finish off 10KM in 2000 steps. Meaning my one step was 5 meters long. If only olympic had a mix of long-jump and 10KM marathon, I would have earned India one sure shot gold medal (as per noom pedometer that is :P)

About you, you prefer to be on bleeding edge with whatever budget you have in your wallet. That's alright and good in a way that we benefit from your learnings but about that examples you gave, if you want some to spoil your buying spirits at time of salesman messing up with your head, feel free to chat with me. I might be able to bring down the buying spirits with the constant "Kaayko mangta hain " questioning :P
