Good Genes Challenge V

Feb 07, 2012 20:27

I absolutely love participating in the Good Genes Challenges over at GoS and the most awesome thing about it is that this time people can submit up to TWO entries (so long as you don't reuse the same Maxis Sims).  Well, I did three (though I'm still only submitting two) so I thought I'd show them to you guys :D

My first entry is a your typical entry where I used some standard, good looking Sims (though George's nose is kind of scary).  Zhulh's genes were actually a lot harder to breed out that the other times I've done this challenge and Claudia's brother's still had melting faces (and I AM sort of disappointed that Claudia didn't get The Nose, but man, now I know that Spencer Fitzhugh gets almost ALL of his looks from Lauren!)  Anyway, Claudia got Meadow's nose, George's jaw, and Lauren's mouth.

Here are the pictures of the other Sims:

Zhulh and Meadow's kids were Camilla, Iris, and Cypher.  I almost chose Iris because she was the least deformed of the three, but she was practically ALL Meadow and I wanted some variation, so I went with Cypher instead.

Cypher and George's kids were  Xander, Chelsea, and Ike.  I loved the fact that Xander had blond hair, but again, there was almost too much Meadow, so I went with Ike.

As you can see, it was a close call with that choice.  Ike and Lauren's kids were Aremis, Claudia, and Preston (in case you were wondering, I use a random name generator for things like this).  So, yeah, if I would have chosen one of the other kids in previous generations it wouldn't have been such a close call.

The one that WAS going to be my second entry was this:

Zhulh and Florence Delarosa's kids were Irene, Wade, and Avery.  I chose Irene for the next round.

Irene and Benjamin Long's kids were Hazel, Calista, and Christian.  I chose Hazel because other than the fact that her mouth looked like it was falling off her face, her eyes weren't all crossed.

Hazel and Remington Harris' kids were Bethany, Isaiah, and Hannah.  They all looked like Remington for the most part and they all had weird, twisted ears from Zhulh, but they were okay looking.  So the person I WOULD have chosen was Bethany.

And she looked pretty cool.  But as I was thinking about it, I was kind of kicking myself for not using more Sims with recessive hair colors.  So I got this idea to use some of the more uncommon Sims; Sims people really wouldn't think of breeding in something like this where the goal is essentially to make them look normal and possibly really good looking.  So I started over with this:

That's right, I bred in Sandy Bruty.  Though I suppose it was a moot point seeing as I didn't choose any Sims that she and Zhulh had with her lips.

They were all kind of scary looking.  The kids are Christina, Sophia, and Kyle.

Sophia and Komei (who I really don't think is all that bad looking, to be honest) had Trinity, Annette, and April.  I had a hard time choosing between Trinity and April, but when I looked at Trinity's profile, I noticed that she had some weird jowls, so I went with April, who had Sandy's nose.

April and Brittany's kids were Monica, Fiona, and Damien.  Brittany's nose looks awful on men and Vincent's eyes were all weird; they were that light blue color that indicates that the original eye color is missing, which shouldn'tbe the case seeing as Fiona has the alien eyes and everyone else has regular eyes.  But this was done in one of my backup hoods were wonky things are already happening (like Puck randomly changing his skintone from S2 to S1 for no reason) so I just chalk it up to bad things going on in a hood I'm going to toss when I'm done filming the next chapter or so.

I really liked Monica and I was going to choose her (which is why she actually got a makeover).  She even had Sandy's nose.  But at the last minute, Ichose Fiona, probably because she still had the alien skintone and black eyes.

She also got Brittany's nose (which will look huge and broken if she has a male child) but she has Stanley's  Komei's mouth, which I think looks absolutely awesome on both male and female Sims.

That's about it.  I'm really looking forward to the next time they do this because ever since I started my legacy, I've been fascinated by the genetics Sims throw, and seeing as my legacy is moving incredibly slow, these challenges are all of the cool stuff without all of the staging and plot.  So if you're looking for something fun and quick to do, I highly recommend doing this challenge!

And...abrupt ending is abrupt.

good genes, sims 2
