Hee. The good part about almost never rolling Family for my Legacy crowd is never having to deal with the "WHINE I WANT A BABY." Cassidy occasionally throws me the "adopt a baby" thought bubble, and then appears just as confused by it as I am.

Is your Labor Day clear? We may have a big thing Labor Day.

Ooooo maybe. I'll have to check.

Family Sims are a PITA. When I first started playing, I thought "Family and Knowledge, good, Romance bad." I think a lot of people think the same. Experience has taught me that I'd better like that Family Sim a heck of a lot (Lytton, Dinadan, Zane.) I had hardly any Family Sims until Gen 6, and then I learned the hard way. But it's the WHINE I WANT A BABY NO I DON'T that drives me freaking insane.

Well, to be fair to Zane, he really hasn't gotten too many Family Sim wants fulfilled. Sim!Zane has no idea why I just won't give them to him so he's been pretty aggressive about it in his want panel. He's all like, "I've been around for TWO AND A HALF GENERATIONS! I'M THE OLDEST (and last surviving) MEMBER OF GENERATION FOUR! WTF?! BAAAAAAABIIIIEEEEEZ!"

I just realized that I don't have a podium. Drafting tables, cameras, the bookcase, and the punching bag. But, all the stuff that was on the second floor of the garage will now go into the basement, including the crafting benches and stuff.

Aww, I wish you could come, but there might be some other times. Like Doc asked below me, maybe Labor Day?

See? Basements are unscary! Next thing, we will teach you how to have an attached garage onto a foundation! (Protip: vertical siding hides the wonkiness!)

Did you add the Stay Things Shrub to the lot last? I'm pretty sure it only works on stuff that was on the lot before you placed it.

Anyway, the new house looks good! I'm sure Eden and Rhys had fun breaking it in.

I NEED to learn how to do attached garages with foundations. In fat, that was the original reason why I didn't give the original house a foundation: I wanted the attached garage.

Yes, I did add it last. All the stuff in the house was already there. I've used the thing a hundred times so I have no idea what happened *shrugs* It' wasn't a huge deal as the house has been backed up with the paintings and stuff a few times. It was just irritating.

You should look at their want panels. Now they have NEW AND IMPROVED AREAS to "christen."

The official tutorial on the Exchange for attached garages on a house with a foundation is pretty good. You just have to put something on either side of the garage door to hide the deformation on the wall, or use vertical siding, which matches up even with the deformation.

Huh. Weird shrub failure.

Well, even with new areas for Rhyden to christen, you're still one up on me. I had to give Gil's house a makeover, and I expanded the deck and gave them a hot tub, which they promptly rolled Wants to break in, and they enjoyed that, and then a BURGLAR broke in, and then they didn't have a hot tub, and now they have a NEW hot tub to break in, in addition to a shiny new burglar alarm.

Also, Cassidy has a brand new burglar to flamey-thought-balloon.

Hey, at least you didn't kill off one of your spares to justify rebuilding the house. :)

The house looks good. I think you're right that the mansard roofs wouldn't have looked right in your neighborhood. I love that style, but it has to fit in the right hood. You could probably put something with that style in your downtown area, where there might be random old buildings, but not in the middle of the 'burbs, where Rhyden lives. :)

LOL, no I didn't. It'll be more like Rhys and Eden (particularly Eden) are starting to feel old because the kids just left for college. That would put them in their early to mid-forties (Rhys is a couple years older). So they want a bit of a change AND they want to leave a permanent mark for future generations to see. And while it's being done, they'll go on a second honeymoon and live in Twikkii for the year or so that it would take to have the contractors finish everything.

I really like the idea of a usable attic that those roofs give the illusion of, but they literally add another floor and that made the house look way too tall. I need to look for grungy recolors of them because I DO want to put them on some of the apartments and stuff :)

I tell you, I wish I'd had those mansard roofs and the Immense Fishtank when SC was still going. I can install them on my PC partition: it just hasn't happened yet. But I can guarantee you that once I have them available, Villa Cecil's getting them.

Oooh the new outside looks great! :D

So you have to rez and rekill sims if you're moving lots, rather than just putting their graves in your inventory? That actually explains a lot! I know when I moved Vaughn, Jade's grave exhibited some super screwy behavior.

I thought it was one of those big "No-no" things to put Sims graves into inventories, so it's something I always avoided doing. I suppose I could have moved the graves to a community lot and then move them back home, but then the ghosts become Starvation Ghosts instead of Elder ghosts. That's what had happened to Savannah and Merlin's graves back in the day.

So I erred on the side of caution and rezzed everyone. Besides, like I said, Sebastian and Kitty had changed into frumpy Elder clothes instead of their normal clothes, so it was beneficial all around.
