i. So, Invader Zim. Gerard is Dib and Mikey is Gaz, but I can't decide whether Pete is more Zim or GIR. THIS LACK OF EASY CASTING DISTURBS ME.

ii. Everytime I see the word Stumptown it makes me go "...Patrick?" Since I live in the suburbs of Portland, you can see how this might be a problem ( Read more... )

v. I feel as if these two pictures have a theme going on, but I'm not sure quite what it is.

The theme is that Mikey always forgets how to spell his own name. That's why they got him the "Mikey" hoodie. Poor Mikeyway.

I would say Pete as the Zim to Brendon's GIR. Also I have no actual idea but I would bet on Toro knowing more words and phrases than your average non-Hispanic American, but not really being fluent.

I'm just finishing up a linguistics seminar on DPs... and oh god, the amount of snickering I do behind my hand every single week. Because I am clearly a 15 year old boy who just discovered porn, or something.

In the spring I'm taking phonology and functional syntax, which are both major requirements, but I've already taken all the regular courses offered in winter, so it's time for random fun shit, woo! There was a really interesting one on auxiliary verb constructions last year.

Oh, see, phonology is my favorite! The stupid easy phonology problems in 101 were what really got me into linguistics; it's the same stupid thrill I get from crossword puzzles and logic problems.
