Reading, Snowing, Watching

I'm just back from the fabulous, storm-wracked Boskone and I will post about it when the jet-lag leaves me be. For now, let me just say that I finally understand why nobody cycles in America.

I started Guns of the Dawn yesterday and I'm enjoying what I've read so far so it's good to see that you think highly of the rest of it.

I agree Wolf Hall is excellent. I think the first episode was probably my least favourite so far because the jumping around between different time periods made it slightly disorienting, although I can imagine liking it more when rewatching it once I'm already familiar with the characters.

Glad to hear that you made it back safe and sound. It was great being able to see you again. Best of luck with the writing, and I will take a look at the Tchaikovsky for sure.

Actually, regarding the chewing, I've discovered that Americans are about 20 years ahead of us In snack research. And I'm not even joking. There's a Seattle company that makes these. They are INCREDIBLE.

Oh, yeah, food in the US is simply amazing... And Argentina is supposed to be a food paradise. Unless food in Eire is a LOT better than in the UK, you must have been shell-shocked!

Food in Ireland is pretty good from certain points of view -- the quality of the ingredients, for example. And there is a huge amount of research into dairy products of all kinds. But the US is definitely way ahead everywhere else, whether you want healthy or unhealthy. The only thing I don't like is how industrialized their farming is.
