Nostalgia gone?

So I put in an untitled mix CD that I haven't put into my stereo for months...

And Vitamin C's Graduation song fills the room...

And I found that it doesn't have the same affect on me that it did in the months leading to Graduation.  I would just about cry then... but now I'm ok.

Is that weird?

Same thing for me, it just doesn't have the same meaning afterwards. Also, "I Will Remember You" used to do the same thing, but not anymore. But when I tried to read the letter that my host family gave me when I left Japan, I got emotional and couldn't do it.

You know, that song has a temporary effect on everyone who hears it. I just heard it a month ago, but it made me all, "awwwwwwwww!". Doesn't do that to me now, though. Also, your emotions are at an all time high at graduation time... the same way it is whenever any chapter of your life comes to an end.

I also think we all have different things that make us get all emotional at different time, and that changes. Right now, the ending of the movie 2010: The Year We Make Contact gets me misty eyed. When HAL asks Dr. Chandra if he will dream when he is deactivated... yeah. *sniff*

Not really... I feel I've moved on - I'm so much more excited for what's to come than I am nostalgic for what's in the past.

I know how you feel. Before graduation I thought I was really going to miss high school, but now that its over I'm just looking ahead.
