O, I was waiting for you to start writing about your Sochi experience! I bet it was quite something. Can't wait for your stories! Opening was good and so idiosyncraticly Russian.

Hi Irina! I liked the opening ceremonies a lot. A really cool look at Russian history, though I think the theme of the ceremony was probably confusing to many foreigners.

Meanwhile we had plenty of snow here, in DC area. It's going to be a lot warmer this week though.
Glad you got to enjoy the Olympics!

P.S. there are sexual harassment laws, but they do not work. However, you can always slap the guy and call him a "нахал" :)

I can't believe the one week I'm gone there's a major snowstorm in DC!! It so rarely happens. What's the English translation for "нахал"? I don't know this Russian slang word.

It is not a slang word, it's quite decent and is freely used in literature. Means something like impudent, impolite person.
