Patriarchy and sex

"Life observations suggest that a man in his lack of regular sex is nothing negative happens. The woman without sex fades, becomes dull, quarrelsome, uninteresting, as a withered flower. This is biology."

Just amazed at the endless words of patriarchal wisdom directed toward me in my blog. Almost always out of the blue, when I never asked for ( Read more... )

There are no question posed in this post - except how people perceive the term "sex." And it varies, at least here in the USA. It doesn't matter really, because what people do in their own bedroom, or life, is their business. But I dislike all these idiotic messages I receive from Russian men about what a woman should be, or how she should act. In the bedroom, or society in general.

Hugh Grant told me about how one time he was talking to women, and, at the same time, a cowardly thinking, "Please keep legs crossed!", because he did not have the strength for sex :) So great was the magic of his British pronunciation and so he was sexually exhausted when he first moved from Britain to the United States.

It's no surprise he has unlimited options for sex - in Britain, or the USA. He's witty, intelligent and humorous - these are immense turn-ons for a lot of women. And, of course, we like accents here. :) All of these outdated gender stereotypes relating to sex are nauseating and should be squashed, I cannot stand them. And,yes, only Russian men write such nonsense to me.

But russian men have an advantage: russian accent much more efficiently penetrates through the text than the british one;)

Russian men have almost no advantages for me personally. I know a lot of them, some are close friends, but I would not consider them as romantic partners. I'm certain there are many exceptions, but I have not yet encountered them in my own life. Maybe in the future...:)

Why do you feel need to prove anything? Or you want to educate other people?

There is nothing to prove. Here, I express my thoughts, that's it. Why is it so unusual to talk about sex? There are dozens of other female bloggers who do it here on LJ, in a more salacious and tabloid like manner. They call all men rogues, receive hundreds of comments, and the atmosphere of the blogs is like a zoo. I don't like gender stereotypes, on either side of the equation, although they exist for a reason in most instances. The purpose is to show women can survive just fine without men in life...this is a very radical concept to a lot of Russian men. Maybe not you and, if so, congratulations, you're evolved. :) A good man - this is a blessing, to be treasured, but not a necessity or guaranteed pathway to happiness.

I think you misunderstand the whole idea why it is considered bad for a woman to be without a man in Russian society. It is not about sex at all. It is about the purpose of women's existence, their fulfillment that comes through family and rising babies. Both men and women support this idea. In this regard I think it is very similar to the United States in the 50-th.

There is no single "purpose of existence." Not for men, or women.

I receive such personal messages, and life guidance, from male readers frequently. Not only on Fridays. :) Have a nice weekend.

It was always interesting to see multicultural discussion between US locals and users from Russia.
I used to chat on different local forums as well as many Russian ones and never seen such an anger and lack of tolerance as it usually seen in runet :(

Btw, have you listened a popular in Russia standup artist Michail Zadornov with his series of jokes and stories about "dumb Americans"? If not - you should. It'll help you understanding the mob. There are many jokes about Americans around a globe. But it seems like in Russia many take it for the truth.

Anonymity breeds rude and radical behavior, in many instances. RuNet - it is on another level, in my view. I've never once had an American man tell me how to live, that I'm "abnormal," "flawed", or any other judgmental adjective, due to my life choices. I know this comedian and have seen his videos on YouTube. Btw, I cannot even imagine how foreigners view us in light of the popularity of Donald Trump in the presidential election. I watched footage of one of his rallies yesterday, and the behavior of the crowd is so frightening. At the mention of "Mexicans", "Muslims", "walls," etc., loud cheers, deafening chants, clapping...I once stood on the ground of the Hitler rally sites in Nuremberg. All very reminiscent and scary...:(((

Sure, why not! :) House husbands can be useful. There is a place for them in the world. At least, I think that's the theme of this tweet, but maybe I misunderstood the Russian.
