Haha! It's great, thanks. :) Especially amusing is the "21 Rules of the Spiritual Man." #5 and #13!! :)) "Nurture wife in severity, let him remember that women - homemakers and behaves with dignity. Of course, this requirement does not apply to prostitutes, even if you go regularly to the same to change the bunny and give yourself whip lash." :)))
Spirituality: noun a) a process by which a perfect amazing cute shiny joyful child is transformed in an adult uninteresting insecure being b) a process by which an adult uninteresting insecure being is transformed into its original form: perfect amazing cute shiny joyful child.
The photo displays a normal Russian facial expression, regardless of where the Russian is standing (in a church, sitting on the metro, or walking on the street). :)
Next time I'm in Russia, it will be a good social experiment to stand in Red Square with one of those "Free Hugs from the USA" sign and see how many people approach me. :) Like this dude in Paris http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/19/world/muslim-man-hugs-paris-feat/.
It actually doesn't in any meaningful way. The answers I got made me think that "it is sth good, it should/must be". My own family wasn't "spriitual" in that sense so even while living in Russia I totally miss the point
She pretends to be serious, but she overuses clichés of the Russian propaganda and sometimes puts them in wrong contexts, which makes impression of deliberate irony.
"...regarding the drug ads in Sevastopol. Personally, I don't think it's drug advertizing. They are just selling some "salt". Perhaps in large batches. It must be snowing soon, and the streets should be salted"
So you think she is really not so stupid and brainwashed? Perhaps her blog is a commercial endeavor, but she does not have ads so I don't think so. Yes, her posts always spit out typical propaganda - all is bad in the West, Turkish assholes and glory to Putin! :)
Любовь - это то, что русские придумали, чтобы денег не платить. (C) The painful truth is that there is no "Russian spirituality" - there is an overused explanation for laziness, lack of work ethic, financial insufficiency, etc We have a family anecdote about my brother. When he was about six years old, he was exposed to a bragging one of his friend who came from a very privileged family. That boy was listing all his expensive toys and his recent trips with the parent, and my brother was visibly upset trying not to cry. And then suddenly, my brother's face lit up as he thought of a response to all of his friend's statements. After taking a dramatic pause, he declared: "Зато я душой богат!" I have no idea where he got it from, but apparently it worked and made the bully to shut up. I am pretty sure most of the Russian population still share the attitude of a six y o.
:)) Does your brother also live in the USA? It must be interesting for you to observe the cultural differences between Russians and Americans, even in your daily work now as a lawyer because it appears that you have a lot of Russian immigrant clients in your legal work.
My brother lives in Russia but he is well-travelled, so I cannot give him a credit for being a typical quintessence of Russian soul. :) I have a lot to say about Russian mentality based on my interaction with my clients, but I usually try to keep it professional :)
