Yes, go on the Internet and pull every random photo of a bad road in the USA. :) This is the exception, not the norm. If you have traveled here, you would know. Or, perhaps you have?

Yes, I have seen such roads. I work in Washington, DC. But, they are not the norm, as I've stated numerous times in the comments to this post. Come visit us, and you will see. :)

Because they also don't have to ride on them. :)

Yes! The damn pindos are the cause of all evils and obstacles in the world, esp. the great Russia! :))

Russians - brave and strong! :) Such qualities are necessary for survival. Btw, smooth pavement is boring! And it seems many Russians can't live without struggle or obstacles. They actually thrive on it, it makes them feel alive. A few readers have told me this.

I also like off-roading, but not in every day life, or on my normal drive to work. Only when I want fun and adventure, otherwise it's too burdensome for me, not to mention the damage it does to cars.

The Russians are very strong and brave? Hmm, I doubt it. They are the same as people from other countries. They used to live as best they can, because did not know how. You are abroad used to think about what the secret of the mysterious Russian soul and so on. And there is no secret. They just live in such conditions, where there are broken roads, dilapidated houses, small salary. Here the degree of adaptability they will give odds to any foreigner.

I don't think they're the same as people in all countries. In America, we face less obstacles with the chores of ordinary life. We're spoiled in many ways, but you're right on your main point. For a lot of Russians, such conditions are simply ordinary. They know no other way of life, and have never seen or experienced anything abroad for comparison. Life in Moscow, Peter and many big cities is not much different from life in the USA. However, small town life in the USA and provincial life in Russia differ greatly.

When you said about the road that is a feast for the village, I was very touched. Need to live life in your shoes to understand what it means for these people. You did very well, which created competition for this event. In the USA people are used that aid from the state, good roads, new tractors - this is normal. In Russian villages rejoice in even the smallest. It is very good that you see such small details. We say that Russian is not a nationality, it is how God is defined. You can not be a Russian by nationality, and the soul to have this little part. It is very good. We are told the media that in the US people only do business that they are not capable of understanding and compassion for what they want to create a mess everywhere, so they were fine with the economy that they are alien to someone else's grief and tears. I don't believe it.

Thanks, it's a nice comment. I'm at an advantage, because I've traveled to many parts of Russia and seen villages with my own eyes. I spent an entire day and night with villagers. This day remains one of my most vibrant and memorable travel experiences. Plus, I'm a very simple person and appreciate the small things in life. :) Just like the villagers.
