"Loveless is spinning tonight..."

With the advent of recovery from death plague, I've become a social butterfly once more. In the end, it looks like post-antibiotics woes fall merely to allergies (and it didn't even end up taking another trip to the doctor to discern that). So hooray for me.

you pretty much summed up why i love punk rock and why i'll always love punk rock. the fact that a bunch of kids can get together and hang out and play music and have fun and all be on the same page is and always will be one of the most amazing things to me.

i never really realized how 'dry' dupage shows used to be until you mentioned it. house shows here aren't like that (there's more of a 'party' atmosphere but things are usually pretty chill) but that might be because baton rouge is a college town and new orleans is... well... new orleans.

oh and what DWAI song did they cover?

They covered "Handsome man in ugly places" aka the first song off of Wait until it happens.

I was talking with Friel about how spoiled we were to have that Dupage music scene growing up. It seems to have died quite a bit since my "generation" went to college and the Sportsplex & the YMCA stopped doing shows.

My computer is not long for this world so I saved a bunch of my writing on a jump drive and one of the things I salvaged was an article I wrote for a journalism class about the DuPage scene... this was a couple years ago and I never really finished it. But lots of memories.... it really was something pretty great, even just being on the peripheral of it rather than totally immersed.
