toomanywhispers: *Bows*

Yesterday at the train station, there were two adorable little children. By "adorable little children", I mean "4-year-old blond twins wearing matching holiday dresses and carrying matching toy puppies". They walked past me having the following conversation:

Child 1: Hey, that person has purple hair! It's so pretty!
Child 2: Oh, how beautiful! Purple hair!
Danni: *turns around to smile at them*
The Parent: *smiles at me* They've never seen purple hair before.
Child 1: You have the PRETTIEST HAIR that I have EVER SEEN.
Danni: Why thank you! I like your hair, too!
Child 2: Are...you a magic person? Like a fairy?
Danni: *laughs* Sure!
Children: Wooooooow!!
Danni: How old are you two?
Children: We're fouuuuuur.
Danni: Those are cute puppies you've got there.
Child 1: *hands me the toy puppy* He's reaaally soft. Feel him!
Danni: *pets the puppy* Wow, you're right!
[their train arrives on the opposite track, just as I was thinking how cool it would be to ride to NYC with these munchkins of great adorableness]
The Parent: Have a happy holiday!
Danni: Thanks, you too! [they walk away from me]
Child 1: Hey daddy, was that person a boy or a girl?
Child 2: No silly, that person was a FAIRY, remember? Magic people don't have to be boys or girls.

You know, I'm really starting to love these days when I get new musical instruments and my gender expression works perfectly on the same day. I almost want to say "I wish every day were like that", except I don't think I have enough room for all those instruments.

I guess I could start giving them as gifts. ;-)

Magic people don't have to be boys or girls, dude. Right outta the mouth of a four year old.
