As a former Hoosier, I've been watching the Indy polls with interest. It's telling that I talked to my mother a couple weeks back, and she confided that McCain's VP decision *offended* her as a woman. Mom's never waved a feminism flag for as long as I've been alive. When your VP choice offends my mom, you really picked the wrong girl for the job.

Obama is a great choice on his own terms. I fell in love with his campaigning style and refusal to talk down to the voter after hearing several of his speeches back in primary season. And the way he took all the petty mud anyone slung at him and used it as an excuse to talk about issues that actually matter? Masterful. In particular, I remember his response to the Rev. Wright controversy. Instead of playing the Peter's denial game we see in politics so often, he used it as the impetus to deliver a moving speech about race relations in the U.S. Absolutely phenomenal.
