I am in LOVE LOVE LOVE! :-) It's two weeks old. He's very soft underneath and his prickles are like a brush.

The prickles don't look too intimidating... perhaps because he's young? What an adorable nose!

Actually, the prickles on the bigger ones aren't too bad, either. When I think of animals like this I think of a porcupine and they are sharp but a hedgehog isn't as sharp! This is like a stiff bristled brush. The nose wriggles around everywhere! They grunt and huff and snort and are very noisy. I think they are charming AND silly!

I cannot resist them and when he gets old enough, puts on enough weight and learns to forage, he will be left to live his life in the wild where he belongs. He and his brother were orphaned at a very early age. I love them.

Darcy has a brother, as well. Two little boy hogs. :-) They are most cute when asleep. OMG. Kevin was holding one of them and they were asleep in his hand for the longest time.
