Sauerkraut is now cooking in the slow cooker. I made it with white wine, a bit of brown sugar, caramelized onions, juniper berries, whole peppercorns, an apple from our apple tree and caraway. This is NOT like the sauerkraut you get in a tin that tastes like vinegar mixed with toxic chemicals! LOL! The slow cooker is perfect for the long cooking
