Why did I say yesterday that I might be interested in "temporarily" taking someone's place at the TV station? Because it seemed like a good idea. I can "temporarily" do this until they find a real replacement for the guy who quit. I'd be productive while I'm figuring things out, instead of just sitting at home while I figure things out. I

As for the temp job....I suppose it is good to have some money coming in, like you said....but is it really what you want to do? If it is, then I support you. Do what you feel is right. If you feel it'll help, then do it. If not, don't.

IMO, if you wanna get to LA soon, the first, and most important, thing you gotta sort out is the car situation. Once thats handled you can then look for a place in LA {that way you won't be keeping potential roommates hanging because you could give them a definite time when you'd be arriving etc}.

Seriously though, I understand your frustration, trust me, I do. But (ok getting cliche here) everything will work out.

Okay. That sucks. If you still want the cash flow, get the cash flow. You do need money. But be clear to them that you can ONLY fill in for a WEEK or two. No more than that, after that, they need to get another "temporary" fill in. While you're working, if you chose to do so [don't be pressured into it, if you feel like you're moving backwards, absolutely DO NOT do it!], sort out your car. You need to get that worked through SOON. You could have had it worked out by now, if your dad is still getting a new one, you need to be on his ass about it every second of every day. Propose a shopping trip to him, the type of shopping where a car will be bought. You need to do this! Offer to go pick one without him and then when he has an hour out of the day, take him to the lot and have him buy it. OR have your parents pay for a full tune-up on your old funkity car so you feel secure driving it for about 3 days straight. Many different ways of approaching this, remember that.
