Prompted Drabbles - 3 (VI)

Jun 13, 2009 22:06

These are prompts from the even_angels_ prompt community which is organized (and prompted) by fewthistle and flying_peanuts. :D :D

The prompts are actually the first and last sentences of the drabbles (in italics).

:)

Thank you for your kind words.

I find that it's much easier (for me, at least) to write from a POV that is closer to Miranda's than it would be from Andy's. I'm not sure why that is. As for transitory - :) I have been found out now. ;) I cannot string together a storyline for the life of me, but I can write a moment in time, and sometimes, I'll try to pick a few moments within a linear situation that might be interpreted as a 'story' of some sort. ;D

I love the idea of 'beginning to move' meaning 'never being able to stop.' What a fantastic concept, especially for someone alone at the top. And a flash of brown that is dismissed--wow, ouch. That was fantastic.

"If it was a ploy to bore the world with the mundane, then it was a roaring success." How fantastic. I love the there were no wild efforts to recapture youth, and they still struggled to balance family and career and were fantastically boring--but probably quite happy. I liked how sturdy the solid hardwood doors seemed in order to separate them from the press.

Sometimes it's so easy to dismiss Miranda's quirks as just that. She's got so much contradictory things going on that it's fascinating to see what actually happens (as opposed to what we expect to happen). :)

Thank you for reading them. :) There are more drabbles sprinkled around that I've written based upon prompts (see the tags). :)

I love your introspective glances into Miranda and these set of drabbles deepen the enigma while simultaneously highlighting her. You always carve out a perfect niche for us to peer through into areas that we've never considered before when considering the essence of Miranda.

I'm always blown away over your grasp for these intricacies and the manner in which you pen them: always leaving ample room for our imaginations to fill in the spaces that you've left open to interpretation. Your drabbles are always thoughtful without being preachy and you stray from regurgitating the same storyline we all know so well, to death.

In a society where career and familial obligations did a delicate dance on the head of a pin, two careers in the mix did not yield any better result at compromise that anyone else could see ( ... )

:) You say (and write) some of the loveliest things that I get to read (often, read multiple times ;) ).

Anyone who reads is probably a lot smarter than the average bear... and I always have to trust that if I left a gap anywhere, then somewhere (out there), it'll be filled by imagination. ;)

My responses are merely fueled by the mastery of words you give me to go on. I'm glad that you trust your readers to weave the rest of the story. I definitely enjoy coming to my own conclusions, no matter how "off" they may be. ;)

Continued success.

*G* I might never trust what my brain comes up with, or whatever inspiration drops upon my head; but I have endless faith that readers will fill in the blanks as they do :)

My thanks again,
:)
