He was kinder than I would have been.

*G* I don't think I've ever seen Brantley savage a Sondheim production, and some of the notes were rather tepid. Of course, I also thought that his final paragraph was indicative of Road Show's potential that went unmet. :[

true, critics are usually nice to Sondheim, but this was not his best work, by a long way.
But I remember his reviews of Wicked and TWP, which I enjoyed a great deal more than Road Show, and he's definitely gone soft.
