Favorite band of the moment

So, I've broken from the Morrissey induced coma for a moment and finally sat down and listened to Dark Captain Light Captain.

Miracle Kicker is SUCH a wonderful winter album.

Further proof of why Lo Recordings (and the side labels, this one being LOAF) is one of my favorite labels.

i know! i twittered about that not long ago. i'd have probably never listened to them if it hadn't been for the Lo connection but they're a great substitute for Hood (who i guess aren't making albums anymore)

They've been on my "to listen to" list for a while, but I finally got around to it yesterday and was floored. It was exactly what I needed to hear.

I love Hood...but I think these cats are better...none of the awkward english boy hip-hop.

i liked Hood's beats and electronics but definitely didn't like when they had the MCs. ugh. DCLC is a much purer (and i'll agree, maybe even better) thing. the voice and mood definitely puts me in mind of Hood though. and the classier side of Radiohead even.
