My grandmother died on Wednesday morning. I'm still waiting for this news to reach me across the Nullarbor Plain. Stuff like this never hits until four days later, like it's crawled on its hands and knees through saltbush and desert and lonely gas stations ( Read more... )

If it will be harder to go home and deal with all the crap you know will be coming at you there, stay where you are, lovie - driving sounds lieka healthy way to deal. Just let the car take you where it wants to go and don't think for a bit.

*hugs you tight*

I'd say "always listen to your heart" except that there have been times when my heart has led me hideously astray.

I'm so sorry you've lost your grandmother - and that the news took its own sweet time in reaching you. Take care of yourself, Dragons. Driving sounds good. Just some movement, fresh air, change of scenery.

*sends hugs*

I'm so sorry for your loss. Were you very, very close to your grandmother? You should do what is best for you - at the end of the day, she is gone and either won't know or won't want you to do something that would jeopordize your own peace of mind and peace of body. You can honour her in your own way, right where you are. Drive baby - funny, I was doing this myself earlier this week...
You have work and exams and are far away, realistically noone will expect you to do this...

Oh dear. I am so sorry. You know, I have said it before. You need to take care of you. If going home is going to be a bad thing, both financially and personally than I wouldn't do it. Funerals are for the living. It is an old saying but true and if it is not something that is going to be beneficial then don't go.

Remember your grandmother, mourn her and if prayer works for you then do that too.

I can only offer you virtual hugs or a shoulder to lean on, but you have that okay?

Ping me if needed.

*hugs* I'm sorry about your grandmother. And I say follow your instincts because sometimes family is the worst thing to be around.
