Please to be informing a Dragons what the, how the, why the fuck. Slooooowly. Remembering I am an elderly ARTS graduate. Enunciate as clearly as you can via the typed word.
I know, right? And I actually have the answers right here at the end of the practice test, and I've just spent the better part of an HOUR plugging those puppies into my calculator six ways to Sunday and I am still tardin' it up, Dragons-style.
*does the lame-ass Math dance*
Seriously. I'm stumped. I'm staring at the answers and I've still got jack-squat. I'm beginning to think I should invest in some tap shoes on the way there tomorrow. Break out the diversionary freestyle dance routine when we get to the Math component.
OMG, yeah! What she said! I consider myself a fairly intelligent person, but this type of math has just never spoken to me!
I look at it an want to choose one number over another because it's "round" or because "it doesn't fit with series from which I can choose", not because I understand the theory and know it fits the formula!
Oh man, I am right with you on the shapes and stuff. I'm looking at it like this: If I draw a coupla antenna coming off that 8, I could totally be halfway to a butterfly. *\o/*
But I...do not believe defacing government aptitude tests will curry favor. *facepalm*
You do know if the wind changes you'll get stuck like that? You're tongue will dry up and drop off and how the shit you'll lick Dean again I really don't know...
I mean, is that even ALLOWED? Can they just take some STOOPID arbitrary number like that and tack it on and expect me to FIGURE THAT SHIT OUT?
*cries* I don't like all these questions without the wordies. All the math problems that has the wordies, I has gotten right. *points to them* The ones that has trains and people on them and distances and kph attached, I has completed them AND written backstories for all the travellers/train driver in the alloted time.
Tell your brother thank you. At least now I know the level of asshattery to expect from the grid box questions. (ie Asshattery = exceeds measurability)

That makes no sense. I'm usually pretty good at logical thinking and seeing patterns, which is part of what made me such a good proofreader, but...

First one answer is D - 55
Why?
Double every number in the first grid and add 3 to make the second grid.
4 x 2 + 3 = 11
14 x2 + 3 = 31
35 x 2 + 3 = 73
So 26 x 2 + 3 = 55

My brother had a theory for the first one.
If you take the numbers in the first four boxes times two and add 3 you get the number in the corresponding box on the right. 26*2+3=55 (D)
