Chickpea Surprise!

The surprise mostly being that I am finally emptying a can of the suckers into a saucepan.

For years I have harbored a ridiculous "emergency back-up supply" of legumes, and despite my recent donations to the bushfire appeal, I STILL have far too many chickpeas. Especially for a piss-weak vegetarian who never recovered from her first crack at dahl.

Then yes, I would definitely stay away from this hot mess. It holds a current rating of 3/5 on the Fart Scale. It might be upgraded to a 4 later tonight.

I'll keep you informed, because God knows you'll be sleeplessly awaiting that further assault of TMI. :D

LOL. Yeah. Sounds like. But in all honesty, if you are looking for some fairly foolproof, failsafe recipes, you really can't go past Charmaine Solomon. I have her Complete Vegetarian Cookbook and nearly everything I've tried in the damn thing in the last ten years has come out perfectly first time.

She appears to be idiotproof, which is... necessary when I cook. :)
