Happy Holidays

Dec 24, 2008 22:17

I want to wish each and every one of my friends a joyous holiday season, regardless of their beliefs or the specifics of their celebrations, or even whether they celebrate, at all. If it comes to that, I hope that this coming year will be full of good things, happy moments, and many, many causes for celebration ( Read more... )

I had a ferocious case of Grinchitosis up until a couple of days ago. Today? Well, I woke up to a purring cat. The sun is finally shining after nothing but rain and clouds for weeks. My love and I are planning a cooking experiment later today. I have nowhere I have to be other than HOME.

It's a wonderful, perfect day.

The secular goodwill and good wishes are, IMO, the "reason for the season." Let the fundies do as they will. We'll be making merry in our own way today and tonight.

A purring cat, sunshine, and cooking with your love sound like a close approximation of heaven to me. (No religious overtones intended in the reference to heaven. *g*)

I love your interpretation of the reason for the season.

I celebrate Christmas because it'd be damn miserable to try and lead a normal life when the whole country stops, and everybody talks about festive spirit and gift-giving. This year, I will see my mother in January - the difference between £150 flights and £10 flights *really* wasn't worth it - but I am still having a few days off, a few candles, and a spot of relaxation and chatting with friends.

I've also vowed to do all those little tasks I never get around to, like answering old e-mails, joining LinkedIn, and writing lengthy posts for livejournal.

May your celebrations be filled with cheer and your visit to your mother be filled with joy.

well, I'm late, but as I'm on the other side of the world, and traveling back in time, it can't matter that much. Hope your day was wonderful, I'm about to spend Boxing Day with 6 of my 7 kids (the eldest was on duty) and their partners. More fun for all, on top of yesterday.

I've already started cooking again *g*

Ain't time travel cool? We're having a wonderful day and I'll be going to a Boxing Day party tomorrow evening. I hope your holidays have been wonderful. Cooking continues apace. :)
