Entry 2: Sick Day

"Sachiko, I made you a little something~" Rei sang as she gently nudged open the door with her hip and stepped inside the room with a big, bright smile on her face. However, her smile quickly dropped when she found a sick Sachiko deeply engrossed in school work. Quietly, Rei set the tray down, crossed her arms over her chest and began to tap her foot.
Rei realized soon enough that it was impossible to get Sachiko's attention, especially after she cleared her throat several times and yielded no response. She had one more method: with a sigh, she took the book Sachiko was reading and looked at her with a frown on her lips and a sad look in her eyes.
Rei's pouty expression was something Sachiko couldn't snub, so, she guiltily cast her eyes down, even though her hands were quick to protect the objects Rei might confiscate. "Rei, you should really stop fussing over me. It's only a cold, I'll be fine." She failed to sound as healthy as she claimed, due to her statement being punctuated by a few coughs.
"Sachiko," Rei sighed again, "if you keep pushing yourself like this, you won't be fine. You need to rest," she chided in a soft voice, her forehead pressed to Sachiko's, and with a smile, she whispered, "Okay?"
Defeated, Sachiko nodded; she even returned that smile when she responded with an even softer "Okay".
"I'll stay here, just in case you get tempted." Rei kissed Sachiko's brow before she cleared the bed and set the tray on Sachiko's lap. "You really need to loosen up, Sachiko. I wouldn't be surprised if the cause of your cold is stress from too much work." She then took a seat on the bed and wrapped an arm around Sachiko, who immediately leaned on her for support.
"You seem to be enjoying yourself," Sachiko mumbled.
"I am," Rei admitted with a grin, "because it's not everyday I have a good reason to baby you."
