I can't think of any really bad gifts either; as you say, it's usually given from the heart, and that matters the most. The greatest disappointment I can think of was once when I got what I thought was a jewellery box with a necklace of silver inside. Turned out it was a Christmas tree ornament! It was a lovely Christmas tree ornament though, and I put it up every year (even though I don't usually have a Christmas tree, but that's beside the point).

And I'm usually very happy for books for Christmas, but that's one book I'll not be putting on my wish list for sure O_O
