I have had unbelievable difficulties with LJ the past two days. I can't believe LJ won't let me post this story. I even reformatted it into plain rich text. Alas. Failed again ( ... )

I'll send the story to damos and he'll get it formatted to work if he can, hopefully tonight. Then maybe you can repost the whole thing in just two parts, okay? He's pretty good at the techie stuff...

I look forward to it. I don't suppose he can tell us why?

Thank you all three of you and I hope it works out (plus anyone else). Or would you prefer the break a leg wish instead for the techie gremlins. Or for me to wish him not to solve it. ;-)

Can't wait.

I can't figure out why exactly, because Pax says she's done the formatting in plain text now, and that really should negate the major problems. Usually when there's a length problem it's that all of the little semi-invisible "coding extras"--font changes, curly quotes, italics, tabs, font size changes, colors--each of them takes extra html code that is counted in the character limit, and when posted in rich text there's a lot of invisible code bloat that inflates the character count. But once they've been hard-coded in and posted in plain html, they shouldn't be taking up so much space! So it's a mystery, but damos is tackling it doggedly. :) I'm hoping I can email her a version that's more postable, but we'll see.

So he is!

What he's managed to do is fantastic!

I will probably repost THIS little section, but not the last post - will just start here, and add the rest of the first half to this section. What do you think? Or would that be more confusing?

(thinks it's a good thing I was too worn out and dead from angsting to post a link on the WF or batfic comms)

So glad to see this updated! I'm sorry you're having formatting bugs, though. :( On my screen the type looks about eighteen pt font, really large - is that possibly why it's too big, some invisible coding that makes the type itself huge?

Either way, thank you for this part!!! *has been waiting eagerly* Totally worth the wait!

Thank you very much! You are very sweet to say so - especially since it was a VERY long wait indeed! *eeek* (Sorry about that!)

And yes, clearly there are some rich-text-related formatting problems, which I am doing my best to fix. I have had some wonderful help, and the rest of the chapter will hopefully be up in the next couple of days. (work and other RL stuff kinda getting in the way of my fandom life here, Grrrrr.)

I appreciate your commenting! Thanks!!!

Pax :-)

P.S.

I checked out your page, and saw your interest in Holmes. I just saw the new Sherlock Holmes film, and must admit I enjoyed it very much! Sure, he's no Basil Rathbone, *g*, but I liked Downey Jr.'s portrayal very much, and Jude Law's too! What did you think?

Just curious!

And hey, yay for classic Trek! Kirk and Spock forever!! ;-)

Well, frankly, I haven't seen the movie but I've seen clips and read a leaked script way back when, and I'm completely unimpressed. I have a reputation for being a Canon purist, and even without seeing the movie I can safely say by no stretch would I ever consider RDJ to be even close to the Holmes of the book in looks - I can't answer for his acting yet other than the few clips (ugh) I've seen. :) But I'm a little picky about my fandoms and who plays in them - I never really liked Rathbone and Bruce either for that matter, so I'm probably just too picky!

(That shows you how awesome I think your Superman-Batman stories are, because I'm that picky in every fandom I have!) :D

Ugh, sorry about your formatting troubles, m'dear! LJ can really be screwy sometimes!

I like this part. I want to see more S/B interaction! :)

I'll keep my eyes on my flist for your next post! :)

Sure thing! I hope to be able to make time by Tuesday to work out the bugs and post it. I will probably repost this little section to be included in a larger 'half', and get the chapter posted in 3 parts, rather than 6 or more! (it's a longish chapter, and rather hard to break up anyway, so I'm hugely relieved that there appears to be a way, as daMo, mithen, and kawahori have said, to post in a lot less!

LOTS more S/B interaction coming up in this Part, for sure. (in fact, this part has the MOST of that in the entire fic, I'd say.)

Thanks for sticking with me, Brady!!! *hugs*

*hugs* I'm so sorry LJ is being so stupid still! Still, I have loved this update, more Batman and Superman interaction, yay! I'm so curious to find about those dreams that Clark has been having! And what's happened to him, of course. *hugs him*

I'm looking forward to more, whenever you can get it posted, and I hope that LJ stops being so stupid to you!

I'm sorry about LJ and Me too! (I can't lay the blame for stupidity ENTIRELY on LJ, after all! Just ... most of it *g*)

I'm glad you've enjoyed the chapter so far! And there's a great deal more S/B interaction coming up!

I'm glad you're curious about the content of the dark dreams Superman's been plagued with! I was hoping I'd built up some suspense about them. And all is revealed (or most anyway, bwah ha ha) later in this very Part! (will be working on getting it posted in the early part of this week!)

Thank you muchly, Star! :-)
