[Despite this being his first time holding a Dreamberry, it didn't take terribly long to figure out the technology to it. Enough time on Balthier's airship; the Strahl was endowed with far more impressive communications technology; and he'd be more surprised if something as simplistic as a Dreamberry could stump him ( Read more... )

Since people have told you the basics already, I'll tell you that this device, the Dreamberry, has many functions and an irritating tendency to turn itself on both to broadcast your dreams and to record moments you otherwise thought were private.

It is a most unbecoming feature of this otherwise harmless device. To have such spiteful intent imbued within the inner workings of a communicator... one begs to wonder why such a feature was deemed necessary at all.

I will hope for us both that these moments are rare at best, and thank you most sincerely for your warnings.

It may be a simple design flaw. Fortunately, it's possible to filter your dreams to control who sees them.

The benefits, such as all the information able to be read and the map of the city, outweigh the risk of embarrassment in my mind. Particularly when giving directions to a home or business.

An optimistic thought. [And so he is inclined to believe it.] I do believe it has merit.

If filters are available, perhaps they can be used most effectively to cut down on damaged cause by accidents of that ilk. Otherwise, the invasion of privacy upon unsuspecting patron users could lead to real harm, in some cases.

Ah, yes. It's usefulness otherwise can not be under-mentioned. It is certainly a very practical device, if not mysterious. I have been told that Somarium has no ruler and no visible Gods. It makes one curious as to whom invented this technology, and for what original purpose?

People use them as they can. It helps matters. There should be instructions on setting them up in the information section of the Dreamberry.

Also with you should have been a card that give us some hints about this world's origins. If that's a field you're interested in, I suggest you view it -- simply pick it up and your Dreamberry will display a slot to slide it through.

[OOC: Muraki's referring to the World Memory card described here!

Thank you. When I've the time, I shall look over the instructions most thoroughly and commit them to memory as best I can.

These cards are indeed of interest to me. I will set aside time for this too, as soon as I am settled.

You have my appreciation for your helpful tips, Mister...?

[Here, he pauses, to allow for his new companion to fill in the blank, as it were.]

Muraki is my last name and what everyone calls me. I'm a doctor here.

Doctor, then. I am pleased to make your acquaintance.

[Ever with formalities. After all, it is what he called Doctor Cid, in his homeworld; a venerable position to have obtained.]

[The formality makes him smile for a moment. It's a refreshing cahnge from some of the people he deals with these days.]

And it's a pleasure to meet a boy who seems very intelligent.

[This earns the softest of chuckles.]

While I am glad to have made such a first impression, I do hope that does mean you are not apt to running into young men who do not meet that description.

I know more people here who act without thinking than the other way around.

[Again, a light laugh, curling a finger over his mouth to try to hide it; slightly embarrassed, for their sakes.]

Oh dear. Well... there is something to be said for brashness at times, is there not? Such people must be commended for their boldness, if not for foresight.

Perhaps. I'll let you judge for yourself if you get to know them.

For now, I'm afraid I should get going to tend to an appointment.

I shall.

Of course, Doctor. I do apologize if I've been a hindrance to your schedule in any way.
