He'd returned from the kitchen with some avocados and eggs, and was in the process of changing the bedding that they'd laid in for days. One thing he couldn't stand was for the bed to smell.
He heard her voice and dropped everything, stepping into the doorway. "Ace!" he smiled.
She didn't really take into account that he was smiling. She didn't really take into account anything, besides the fact that he was there.
She stared at him for a few seconds, and she walked closer, her eyes suck on his face. Because he looked different. The way he held himself and smiled, and that sardonic bit wasn't there now.
And her voice was hoarse when she looked up at him, when she finally saw and- "Oh, God, Jack-"
Three words, until her hand caught the back of his neck to pull him down into a kiss where she was holding nothing back.Needing him to be real. She needed him, no matter what anyone said. No matter what she said.
He hadn't expected her to kiss him ever again, and certainly didn't expect her to try to climb him like a tree to devour him. It was an automatic reaction to kiss her back, to return the passion in kind. It felt good because it was contact, it was kissing, it was Ace.
Ace.
Reluctantly he pulled away, stealing another kiss, ten another. "Ace? What's going on? Did I...what happened? I thought we weren't..."
She didn't care, and that much was clear, on tiptoe on the top of his feet, pulling herself up as much as she could to kiss him again and again, not wanting to stop-
Because this might be a dream, be one of those dreams she'd had where she was here and thought she was at home- But this was home now, so she might wake up staring at the white ceiling of her new flat, at the flat that Jack had appropriated for her.
Appropriated because he had some odd sense of obligation, but not because he knew her. Never because he knew her. But Jack-
"Please-" It was a breathless plea, less then ten seconds where she stared into his eyes before kissing him again, pouring everything into it - holding nothing back, that bit of herself that said that this wouldn't be a good idea utterly quiet and letting her take what she needed.
