Turning point

Rarely is my life's punctuation so emphatic: for just one night, between living in Cambridge for the summer and moving back into Providence for the coming year, I'm (a little inexplicably) back home in Connecticut. On the subject of life-punctuation, my 19th birthday is the day before my first day at uni. How cool is that?

When does your school year start over there?
Is the 19th a significant birthday in the UK? Drinking or something?

School year starts around 5th september, uni year starts 2nd october. No, it's not a significant birthday, but still...
