What unbearable lightness indeed!theshowmustgo0nJanuary 6 2005, 01:52:48 UTC
This entry reeks of postmodernism. OH, deconstruct me . Only you give it a nativist flare with your talk of evolution and the thriving of our species. I like that. The question of use, purpose, and more abstractly, meaning and the lack thereof is an interesting one. Paul Tillich would say that the modern era (and more so the pomo era) is in an ontic crisis of spiritual self-affirmation, which he says is the anxiety over emptiness and loss of meaning. Human beings are suspended by the "webs of meaning" that they construct, personally or as a society, and we are now experienceing their disintigration in all spheres of academia. Your entry is a testament to this aspect of the modern era, only you represent a rare case insofar as you seem to have no anxiety about these kinds of things.

"And may everything be broken that cannot brook our truths! There are yet many houses to be built!"
Nietzsche's so badass.
