The Second Sex and maybe also Of Grammatology

It's high time I put some energy into trying to figure out women. What better way to do that than to read a big book about them written in a language I already understand: the language of existentialist morality?

Just want to warn about biological sex differences - a large part of existing evidence for those is contradictory/inaccurate, due to the fact that the vast majority of studies are poorly controlled or conducted with false prior assumptions, and no one can agree on what the proper controls are. Can't comment on The Second Sex specifically, as I have never read it (regrettably), but as it is over 50 years old, I'd recommend ignoring any reference to biology.

Perhaps a helpful comment: you might want to say what you (DB, Satre) mean exactly by immanence and facticity. DB's analysis seems bang-on to me, but then, you want input from women.

Thanks, that's very informative.

Weirdly, I've found it really readable and have loved the semicolons. That probably says more about me than the translation.
