What kind of car would be the dream car...

...of a twenty something vigilante living in New York City and whose adopted father is a billionaire playboy/vigilante?  Said care will be purchased by said father.

I'm actually going to use this in a story. :-)

For show: a Ferrari California Spyder. They only made about 100 of them in the late 50s or early 60s. This is the convertible featured in Ferris Buehler's Day Off, I think.

For go: Something like an Alpha Romeo Spider.

I like ragtop cars for play, hehe.

The problem with New York is that it's really not a car display city (like Los Angeles, for instance). You don't really drive down the highways and see the types of cars you'd see in someplace like Miami. NYC is hard on cars, and even if you live somewhere where you can park your elite sports car in a garage, the wear and tear on it when driving anywhere in the city would make it a waste. (Plus, people have no respect for cars here). A sports utility vehicle, on the other hand, gives you the same effect--the wanting to overwhelm and impress--in something that can stand a NYC beating. I can't say I've ever looked twice at anything other than a Hummer in NYC.

Otherwise, it doesn't matter what you're driving. You'd be just as well off in a Benz or a Porsche and even better off in a car with a driver.

I asked Kathy who asked her husband who suggested a Masserati (sp?). Kathy qualifies this by reminding you that such is what a 50+ year-old says he would want were he in a 20-something-year-old vigilante's shoes.

(Nice to see a hungry bunny, btw!)

OOO. That's a good one. But now I'm wondering after a couple of comments about car and New York City, if I shouldn't have Bruce give him a motorcycle instead.

What do you think?

And it's nice to have a hungry bunny again, although I don't think you'd like this story. I was asked to write it for a holiday e-zine and it's slash.

I really need to finish my other stories, too. :-)

Up to you, really. A motorcycle can work well. BTW, I know very little Japanese, but in my DC2 stories, Bruce did indeed give Dick a 'cycle. A Koumori Ninja. While the 'ninja' is a real motorcycle designation, 'Koumori', as far as I know is an invented company. It's also the Japanese word for 'bat'. Just saying.

That's an idea, just make something up. I was thinking of renting the Batman movie wil Val Kilmer 'cause he had a collection of motorcyles. I could use one of them, too.

Thanks.
