YOO-HOO, POODLES! WHERE HAVE YOU GONE?

Whatever happened to poodles? I never see them anymore. When I was a child, it seemed that every wealthy older lady toted around a toy poodle (the way Paris Hilton used to swan around clutching her Chihuahua accessory-dog). Toy poodles actually DID look like toys (nervous toys) and always seemed little more than overly-groomed puffballs with pink

The world could use more Collies and Irish Setters ... but good riddance to the poodles, I say! :)

I've noted a resurgence of late in standard poodles, no fancy clippings. Also a fair number of 'Lassie dogs', as we like to call collies. But that's just my blue-collar neighborhood in Portland.
