Thanks for the heteronormativity, egg donor website!
Do you and your partner understand that, unless you have had a tubal or your partner has had a vasectomy, you must agree to abstain from sexual activity while undergoing medical treatment and participating in this program?
I don't think my partner CAN have a vasectomy, because her gonads are on the inside of her body. Also, does sexual activity exclusively mean P-in-V intercourse?
probably. just dicks up in you, yeah. any baby making activity.
i looked into it a few years ago, it was appealing but ultimately it was more medically invasive than i was comfortable doing. hormones, fertility drugs, messin around with my vagina... no horror stories or anything, it just didn't seem worth the money once i learned more about it. if you are brave enough, go for it.
Besides the incredible restrictiveness on your entire family's medical history, there are links to some long-term side effects from the hormones, including higher risk of certain types of cancer, and certain risks to your own fertility should you ever decide to grow some babies for yourself. OTOH, it's an awesome thing to do, and if you are up for taking on the risks I think it would be really cool of you to do for someone!
i know some people who have done this and i would never do it unless i was seriously desperate for quick money. it fucks with you SO MUCH. so many hormones over a long period of time (like intense hyperbolic intense pms/depression/mood swings for months), and the egg extraction is invasive surgery.
If you get chosen to become an egg donor, they will literally own your body. You will have to go where ever and whenever they want you to. Plus, it could take up to 2-3 years to actually get paid. Plus, the risk of being left barren is very high. All this coming from my sister who used to work at a fertility clinic.
