Halloween and there was nothing wrong, odd or ridiculous was happening to him. Guy was infinitely pleased. No costume stuck to his body, no horrors chasing him, no zombies; no idiocy. Hu-bloody-rah.

Scarcely one second after having thought this, Guy walked into a bit of mist and was suddenly in a very different landscape.

There were mountains in ( Read more... )

Cole had seen Guy and was walking to meet him, when he too walked into the cloud that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.

It was strange enough that he seemed to suddenly be in a completely different place.

But stranger still that he was suddenly on a horse.

"Guy?" he called, yanking on the reigns in favor of keeping himself up on the damn thing. It was incredibly disorienting, going from walking to sitting.

Guy heard Cole but didn't turn to him at first. Julian's small note had left him confused and rather worried. "Spain. At least I think it that's what it's supposed to be." He held up the note to explain his deduction. First things first and the first thing was to try and explain this island stupidity. "It's from Julian. He went to Spain to fight against Franco." He died in Spain, which is why he was worried about this whole scene. Smoke in the distance, gun-shots more pronounced now. Hadn't he dreamed something similar?

"But I don't know why we're here. And I don't know where 'here' is exactly." It was only then that he looked to where Cole's voice had come from and found that he had to look up further than usual. "Why are you on a horse?"

Cole looked down at the horse as if he'd just noticed it was there. "I don't know," he said. "We were on the island just a moment ago."

He looked back out into the distance, startling a little at the sound of a gunshot. "Do you think we should go somewhere?" he asked. "Somewhere else, I mean. Those sound... awfully close."

The guns were close, but did Guy want to leave? Wouldn't Julian show up? Shouldn't he wait to see if there was anything he could do? Shouldn't he want to prevent the inevitalbe? Even if it was the island playing games.

"I don't know," he answered honestly. "Not on a horse, though." He recalled the film they had seen and knew to expect the worst at all times. "You should probably get off the horse."
