Title: Love Isn't All Bunnies and Flowers
Author: Sheckler
Rating: PG-13 ish.
Summary: Patrick isn't proud of himself.
Disclaimer: Herrherrherr, I wish.

Patrick isn't proud of himself.

He doesn't like the way he looks, short and round and constantly wearing a hat, or the fact that no matter how hard he tries to, he just never loses weight. He doesn't like how obsessed he is with his looks and his weight and how he appears to everyone and anyone. He's not happy that he's not a face that you'd remember, that he's a person you'd instantly forget the next day.

He doesn't like his stupid habits, like staying up late to watch the reruns of shows he'd already seen earlier, or his love of Johnny Depp movies, or laying around on Sundays when there's nothing to do. He doesn't like that he hogs the game controller when the band comes over to play video games, and he doesn't like it when when he takes things out of the fridge and forgets to put them back. He isn't happy that no matter how hard he tries to change, the change won't come.

He doesn't like the way he loves, with his heart on his sleeve and a give-all and get nothing in return attitude. He hates that most of the people he's tried to be with don't return the sentiment, but he can't blame them. He's not happy with his love life, or with his lack of it, and definitely is not happy that he's in love with Pete.

It's not like any love he's had before. This is L-O-V-E love. He loves everything about Pete, from his wide teeth and boney legs, to his stupid obsession with eighties chick flicks, to the way Pete is overly-enthusiastic about everything he loves. Patrick thought that everything about Pete was sexy and adorable at the same time. Patrick thought Pete's faults were adorable, like how Pete refused to wake up before noon on tour, or how Pete demanded to be the only one with wine coolers if they were drinking. How Pete would instantly anger to an unreasonable point at the mention of him being girlish -even if he was.

Patrick hated, DESPISED, that he loved the other side of Pete, though. The nasty side. The side where Pete would kick the groupies out of his bunk early in the morning, just a couple of hours after that boy or girl or both had fallen asleep. The side where Pete spent at least two hours in front of the mirror perfecting his already perfect make up. The side where Pete claimed all the glory of the band for himself, even if there were three others that he couldn't have succeeded without.

While Patrick was no one, Pete was SOMEone. Someone worth remembering and someone you'd never forget. Pete was exciting and beautiful and loved just in the right way. And Patrick hated this, hated PETE for being SOMEone, for being the person he loved and hated and wanted to be so much. He hated Pete because Pete was everything Patrick was not and more, because Pete was confident and funny and creative, because Patrick knew there was no way that Pete could love anyone like Patrick.

-->End.

A/N: Er, my first Patrick/Pete ficlet. ...Was it good? Review!
