Volunteering at KEXP

Volunteering for KEXP was great fun and I'm totally going to answer phones for them again at the next pledge drive. The afternoon show was decently busy the whole time I was there, so 4 hours flew by. It was nice to actually have something to do, where as the Sunday afternoon shift I did on the 28th was super slow

getting a temporary setup like that to work - having one number forward to 30 or so lines - is always touch & go. we would always have occasional problems when we'd do the children's hospital fundraiser. hell, we have 6 phone lines at my radio station & occasionally they get all fucked up.

It looked like a tricky set up, and while things were down someone was explaining a little bit how it worked. There just seems like so many possible breaking points that it's amazing that it does work.

We should coordinate better next pledge drive and bring some BeckyPatricksuperfuntimelovin to KEXP.

They'll never know what hit 'em.

I recommend the afternoon show, but getting time off work is impossible we will just have to work around that. We could do the shake the shack drive that kicks off the pledge drive on friday night.

I need to find out when the next pledge drive is and see if it's possible to get a half-day around then. It shouldn't be a big deal (it usually isn't), and I'm RIGHT next to them anyway so I can be there straight after work.
