hey, mr. curiosity

Out of all of the places and events on the island, the lab might have been the single source of the greatest frustration for Zhuge. Always eager to learn and never one who took well to being left behind, Zhuge peered into its windows on a regular basis, seeing all of the instruments and materials, wondering what each one of them is for. To the best ( Read more... )

The change in atmosphere had been decent enough, and once she'd spent her time getting used to the new streets -- so similar and yet so different from the Westminster she'd visited once -- Olivia found herself turning her attention in more important directions: what to do with herself and her clothing. She found the clothing more stifling than anything else, but she'd found a decent compromise, even if she'd been stuck in a skirt. For now.

The lab was where she spent at least half an hour or so of her day to keep an eye on Walter (much more important now that it would be so easy for him to get lost), and whatever he was working on was usually enough to keep her interest.

She looked up when she heard someone enter, and a smile was on her face before she realized it. "Hello, Liang."

"I'm doing very well, thank you," she replied, and while she'd already been considering leaving Walter to himself for the day, Olivia found herself glad for the distraction.

"I'm not a scientist myself, no," she said, and gestured to Walter, who seemed caught up in what he was doing and completely oblivious to anything else around him. "I know Dr. Bishop, we worked closely together back home."

Gaze flickering over in Walter's direction, Zhuge stifled the small laugh that threatened at the sight of the man, not derisive so much as appreciative of the fact that he had such a relentless dedication to his work, clearly undeterred by the change of weather and location alike. Instead, his eyes were bright as he turned back to face Olivia again. "I did not know you two know each other," he remarked, smiling as he walked to pull a couple of chairs over for the both of them, assuming that Walter didn't need every single one to help complete his work. "This is not the first time I have look inside this lab, but sometime he give me angry look. Or maybe he is thinking very hard."

Tapping lightly at his own temple, Zhuge's expression was understanding. "With too much talk, work is hard, so I know why he is angry. But now I feel very lucky to be here. You can tell me if I make his job hard."
