Moonridge 2007 - what to offer if you haven't to offer something...

Apr 26, 2007 09:53

I would love to contribute something to the auction, aside from bidding like mad, of course, but I don't have any skills in writing, doing art, photo manips, vids or icons ( Read more... )

Sounds like a very good idea...and I like the concept of writers bidding to do something known ahead of time. And that it could be something small...I'll definitely bid for that part!

>>the concept of writers bidding to do something known ahead of time

That's also a point I thought would perhaps trigger the one or other bid: Knowing what they get themselves into *before* committing to write something. *g*

>>And that it could be something small

Of course something small. *g* I can hardly ask for an epos at the price of 10 - 15 $. ;-) How much work the bidders are going to put into their contribution, no matter if it's a short story, an icon or something else would be entirely up to them and their author-/artist-muses. *g*

The point is to attract a variety of people who think they can't do something big this year and who therefore aren't offering, but would perhaps like to contribute something small spontaneously when the mood strikes. *g*

And thank you so much for volunteering to do a bid on it. *g* I appreaciate this, makes me feel as if it might really work...

The idea is great! :-) Really, really great! I like it a lot.
Does that mean I could bid on one of your prompts, too and - if I "win" write something in German? TS, of course. *eg*
I'd love to contribute to Moonridge but this year bidding (= having to spend money ;-)) is just not possible for me. And I don't have anything to offer, because offering a German story for the auction makes no sense. ;-)

I don't have any skills in writing Das hat dir aber hoffentlich nicht die Staccato-Tante eingeredet, oder? ;-)

Glad you like it, Sina. :-) Of course you can write it in German. *g* Any bidder who feels comfortable to write in German could do it and *especially* you. *g* Offering a german story to a mainly english-speaking audience wouldn't make much sense, perfectly right, but if you already *have* the audience for sure... *ggg*

Don't let anything stop you. *g*

And thank you for offering to contribute. :-)

*g* Und nein, das hat mir nicht die Stakkato-Tante eingeredet, ich habe damit auch mehr auf's Englischsprachige abgezielt. *g*

Hast du meine mail gekriegt?

I think it's a great idea! I know I would seriously consider bidding on an idea if I could (all I can do is write this year, though; even a $5 bid just isn't in the cards -- but I love the idea, anyway).

Thank you so much for considering a bid. :-) And if "all you can do is write" you're the perfect vict... *uhm*.... "target audience" for this idea. *g*

and suggests you call it the Moonridge Auction Claim Challenge. :) We'd put in the special auction section and people can "Claim" whatever you or anyone else puts up. If you want a post TSbyBS story and you're willing to pay 'x' amount of dollars for every author who claims it, you're set. If you want an art piece/s, the same thing would apply.

The Great PatK Claim Challenge.

I like it!!!!
