Bands in Basketball Courts Don't Mix.

While I enjoy the bands that Armed Forces Entertainment and the USO bring around, the places they perform leave a lot to be desired. Last week, Montgomery Gentry played at the MP Hill gymnasium. I have never understood why people will insist upon having performances being placed in the most acoustically horrible places possible. X_x

It's not just the military (though things like that happened at Kadena too)... My husband's work tried to bring in a band to their company picnic -- to a place where there was no electricity. Worked REALLY well for that keyboard. :P

Most of the time, things work out well. We had a blast with the Bellamy Brothers doing a New year's gig for a few dozen people about 3 years ago. And Charlie Daniels does a big outdoor thing every fall.

But as much as I like Montgomery Gentry, it does no good to try and listen to 100% distorted noise.

Up
