Sam knew in ep 100 that Dean had gone to see her, so I wonder if there's just been contact they and we haven't seen it...because it was shoehorned in at the last minute.
I hope we'll get some backstory to that. If not, I'm writing fic for it.

I mean, the more I think about it, the worse I feel for both Winchesters. The more achy I get over the idea that our five-season arc, the one we've spent so much time following and pondering and writing about, is all over now.

Yes, this. I want these guest characters to matter, I want the show to work through the implications of the way they ended this season, I want Lisa to be treated as an individual human woman and not as a warm, glowy symbol of love and home and motherhood. I like her as a warm glowy symbol, don't get me wrong. I just would like her better as a person.
