I can't claim to understand it very well just yet, but...
Krav Maga means "contact combat" or "close combat." It's an Israeli combat system intended as aggressive self-defense. The idea is to disable your attacker as fast as possible and establish control of a violent situation. I get the feeling it's not as much of a sport or an art as other martial arts - it has no sporting federation or official uniform.
The first day was fun, if only because I'd never punched a punching bag before in my life. Big ol' 250 lb son of a bitch. It barely moved when I punched it. I did make it jump when I kicked it from a ground position. GRRR!
*turns faintly pink* I actually have almost no natural talent for this. But I'll get better.
Oooh, sounds like useful fun, which is one of the best kinds of fun! :p Lol, punching a punching bag, no matter how effective you are at it, is ALWAYS a good time. It's an adrenaline rush and a stress reliever all at one time, how can that be bad?
