I like how you left it with Ms. Elena, too. She wasn't going to take his situation well, at all, and nothing Dean could have said would've changed that. It's sad that he couldn't say goodbye, but it was a genuine reaction.
You were nervous about the ending? Why? I like that it ends how Dean intended this trip to end: him living it up at one last Mardi Gras. He gets the meaningful experience with the Broussards, and he still gets his last party. Very fitting.
Awesome story, hun. Very cool. :)

I never realized until this story how difficult it is to make backstory mesh with what you've already written. I'm so glad the effort looked natural - that was something I consciously worried about.

I am so grateful for the kind and generous feedback. So grateful. *smishies you*

I'm not what I'd call conversant in your Nazareth 'verse, but it doesn't matter because you write so dazzingly and so brilliantly that I feel and see and live very moment of your fics. This? Was powerful stuff, and your OCs just leap off the page, real as you and me. It just aches to revisit this awful year, too, when Dean and Sam both hear the sifting of the hour glass, for Dean.

Incredible work, you. I am so very glad you share your gift with us. :-)

I read the first two chapters and then waited until it was complete and I am so glad I did! You wrote New Orleans as a character in its own right, the mystery was intriguing, and the Dean and Sam interaction was perfect, especially in the final chapter! You had Dean's POV spot-on throughout.
Absolutely wonderful!
