They watch him move across the sand, but he doesn't flinch under their gaze. The island courses through his blood, it's who he is (he despises it).
It pulls him to the edge of his prison, and he immerses himself in the ocean, waits for his salvation.
It does not extinguish the flames that burn beneath his skin. It never will.
He waits for the fire to spread, but firm hands drag him back, saving him (condemning him).
Tears threaten to spill from the worried eyes of his rescuer. I don't understand.
Jacob chokes up the ocean. Esau will never understand what it's like to be a monster.
